Yesterday turned out to be much more relaxed than I had expected! Sorrell and I woke up and got ready for the day. Then we walked across the parking lot to have breakfast at the Old South Pancake House. Yum! After breakfast, we checked out of the hotel and then headed over to Fort Worth Feritlity.
Everyone there was very friendly and Dr. Kaufmann was a riot, cracking jokes and having a good time. He was one of those personable guys you wanted to hang out with just for the entertainment and it was obvious that he loved his job.
The nurses took my weight and blood pressure. Then Sorrell and I met with Dr. Kaufmann and he explained the entire process and how it would play out. Next, we went into an exam room where he did an internal ultrasound of my uterus and ovaries to make sure that everything looked good. Finally he did a "mock transfer" to see how the catheder placement would be. That took only a few seconds. Dr. Kaufmann said that my uterus and ovaries looked great and that everything went in like silk. LOL I felt so proud of my lady parts, like I'd just received a seal of approval and I held within me a valued treasure. Though I'm sure he says that to everyone!
Lastly, they drew some blood from the both of us for STD, blood type and some other testing and gave us some consent forms to sign and have notarized. That was it! Simple, fast and stress free.
After our appointment we went to In-and-Out Burger. It was the first time Sorrell and I had seen one since we lived in San Diego before the kids were born. It was just as delicious as we remembered! Then it was off to the airport to hang out until our flight back home.
