Well, the first trimester is officially over and I made it through the holidays! My kids passed on a cold to me about a week ago and my body seems to still be hanging on to some remnants of it like an occasional cough and congestion issues but its getting better. Aside from that, I'm feeling sooo much better! The morning sickness has subsided significantly and now I only suffer from it every blue moon. While I'm still tired, I have a ton more energy than I did before and most days I'm fine to go without a nap and still be relatively functional come 8 or 9 o'clock at night.
I am still suffering from the pelvic pain but it's not quite as bad. Between chiropractic care, the support belt I purchased, and me just learning how to manage it more, I'm doing okay. I just hope it doesn't get too much worse as the pregnancy continues to progress.
I'm also starting to feel the babies move much more. It's strong enough now that I can feel them often during the day without having to lay real still and focus on it to feel it. I can just be sitting down or standing at the sink and feel them!

Apparently I'm craving sodium like crazy!! I can not get enough pepperoncini peppers!! My husband like to occasionally have one or two with his salads or sandwiches or what not so I bought him a jar of them from the store. One day, I opened the fridge and saw the jar and it sounded good so I ate one. And then another, and then another. I think Sorrell had maybe 5 from the jar...I ate the rest over the period of maybe a week or so. I'm talking, at least 10 a day! LOL. I'll eat them anytime of day with any other food. It's really disgusting if you think about it. Haha. I'm already about halfway through the second jar and believe me, there are a TON in a jar.
The other things I've been "craving" more frequently lately (though nothing is as serious as my peppers!) are Burger King JR Whopper with bacon, Burger King Original Chicken Sandwich, and Chili's chips and salsa. All which contain lots of salt. I could eat any of the above at anytime if I wasn't worried about suffering from a coronary blockage!
I went in last week for the first trimester screen where they measure the nuchal transparency and take blood to determine the chances of the babies having downs syndrome or Trisomy 18. The doctor said it's likely low because everything on the ultrasound looked great and since there isn't a family history, my blood shouldn't show any surprises. The best part of it was getting a few new pictures of the little bits!! Because they're both 3 inches now, it's hard to get both of their bodies in one picture so to assure me that there really are two in there, they got me a shot of both of their little heads.

Then I got to see each one close up. They look like little babies now and not just gummy bears! Baby A had a good heartbeat of 138 and Baby B was 149. Both of them were super active, moving all around.
I have a regular OB appointment on the 31st which will likely prove fairly uneventful. The most exciting thing is that I have another ultrasound scheduled for February 4th for an anatomical survey to make sure all of the organs and everything are growing properly. We'll get to find out the sex of the babies at that time too!!! Russ is going to be coming down for that appointment so that at least one of them can be there since Grant has to work. I can't wait!
