This has been a season of sickness in my house. We always have some illness when school starts up...the joys of exposing your children to hundreds of other children that spread their nasty germs. lol
But this year was a little worse just because we're also in a new geographical area so the kids are getting a double dose of germs they haven't been exposed to before.
We've dealt with colds, coughs, ear infections, pink eye, and a horrible eczema flare up (not germ related, of course) just since school has started. Fortunately, I've managed to come out of it unscathed, even with being the main caregiver for them when they're sick. I usually do miss it when I'm pregnant, due to my immunities being stronger and taking my prenatals.
But it's finally caught up with me. :(
I had been feeling really tired the last few days, even with having a couple of nights of really good sleep. I assumed it was a combination of a few previous sleepless nights and being in that time frame of greater baby growth finally catching up with me. But yesterday I woke up with a sore throat and could barely keep my eyes open. My throat soreness went away after being a wake for a bit so it was most likely from me breathing primarily through my mouth the night before (a tell-tale sign for me that a cold is coming on). So I took some echinacea and Emergen-C and went back to bed after the kids left for school. I also took a nap later in the day.
By last night, it was clear that I had a head cold. Ugh. Dealing with the equally runny and stuffy nose. I slept on the couch last night so as not to disturb Sorrell. I'm feeling much better and rested today but still dealing with the nose symptoms.
Hopefully, between my prenatals, echinacea, vitamin C, water and rest, it won't get much worse than it is and I'll come out of it in a couple of days. And if this is the worse I get with everything the kids have had...I'll take it! lol
