Things are well on their way to baby making time! John, my IF, and I were able to meet in person recently and it was wonderful. He flew into town on November 1st with a friend of his. We were able to spend time going over contractual details, talking about ourselves and our families, what the process will be like, and many other things to get to know each other better. John took my family out to dinner on Sunday evening and we had a great time. My kids just adore him and he later informed me that the feelings were mutual.
The following day, John met with his prospective lawyer, Christine, to discuss all of the legal aspects of it, and to give her our draft contract with our preferences. After going back home to New York, John scheduled to have a semen analysis done just to check on his sperm quality. We have decided to do at least 3 home insides before considering moving on to unmedicated IUIs. So it makes sense to make sure we're working with good swimmers before wasting time and money trying for something that wasn't likely to work in the first place.
We're both confident that that will come back just fine. He had that done just three days ago on Thursday and we're expecting the results either tomorrow or Tuesday. Hopefully it does indeed all come back good. If it does, we'll continue moving forward and John will have Christine draw up our contracts.
Meanwhile, I've been tracking my cycles so that we're ready to go whenever everything is in place. (We're hoping to start next month!!)
Unfortunately, my cycles are still regulating from when I stopped pumping in June so they aren't back on a predictable schedule yet, which means that I'll only be able to give John a short notice of when to fly out for my ovulation. But, if things don't take right away, hopefully they'll continue to get more normal each month and I'll be able to give him more notice next time.
So, we are taking the steps necessary for everything to happen. It's just a matter of having that patience that is so damn hard to maintain!
