Well, the family, bean and I are officially Texans now! It was quite the journey getting here.
So the plan was to pick up the moving truck Thursday morning, meet the movers at the storage and then load the truck. Then we were going to keep the truck parked in the storage lot while we took a long nap back at the house and head out of town around 7pm.
First, I woke up feeling bad Thursday morning. I was having some bathroom issues, if you know what I mean, and then I ended up throwing up. I thought the vomiting was morning sickness at first but the other end of things didn't slow down either and I just felt pretty nasty so I quickly ruled that out. I pressed on and we went to get the truck. The guy was an hour and fifteen minutes late. Then the movers called saying they thought they were supposed to be there at 10:30, not 8:30...so they were about an hour late. But they made it and them and Sorrell started loading things up.
Then I really started feeling horrible. I was nauseated, hot, and had to run to the bathroom and felt weak. Fortunately I wasn't moving anything anyway because of the baby but I couldn't even direct anything. I just curled up in the car and slept. When we were done, we went home and I managed to keep a couple bites of oatmeal down and passed out. Evening rolled around and Sorrell kept asking me if we needed to delay a day but I said no, as long as I'm not throwing up any more lets just go and if I have to stop on the side of the road...so be it.
So we left around 7pm as planned. Then about 70 miles or so outside of town we pulled off for our first bathroom/fuel break. I took the kids in for a bathroom stop while Sorrell fueled the truck since my car was still good on gas. When I came out he told me we had a huge problem. The truck was leaking fuel all over the pavement. He investigated and found a hole in the fuel filler hose with duct tape all over it.
Then we got to wait for three hours while roadside came to fix it. It wasn't until after 11pm that we were back on the highway. Around 1am I told Sorrell that with my body fighting whatever this was, I just had to pull over and sleep for at least an hour. We ended up sleeping until 3:30am. By then I was feeling significantly better but still not 100% but we pressed on. We finally made it into town Friday at 4pm and picked up the keys and did the walk through. The movers here showed up at 6pm as planned and helped unload everything.
We passed out early and then around 2am I woke up to Sorrell in the bathroom...sick. Poor guy had whatever I was just coming off of. Some 24hour flu-like bug.
Fortunately today we're all feeling much better and back to normal. Our internet is (obviously) up and running, we're slowly getting things unpacked and getting settled. I forgot how much furniture we got rid of and sold before moving to ABQ so I'm going to have to do some shopping these next few weeks to really get it looking the way we want but that will happen soon enough.
Next big thing is our ultrasound!! We thought we were going to be doing it on the 5th but Jonathan had some big work stuff come up and is thinking either the 12th or 16th will work best. I'm sort of just in limbo patiently waiting for him to give me a solid date to schedule it for and then I'll be waiting with excitement for that day to get here!
