I feel like it has been months since anything has happened baby/pregnancy wise but it's only been a couple of weeks!
Today I had my first official OB appointment. I got to meet my new doctor, Dr. Hinds, who is amazing! Him and his staff are super nice and easy to talk to. It was all very laid back and conversational like I was visiting a friend, not seeing a doctor. I loved that!
He also said that I am a perfect candidate for a VBAC and even went so far as to say one of the best candidates he's seen in a while! :) Yay for me!
I did a blood draw for the Quad Screen and then met with Dr. Hinds and we chatted for a while about me, my medical history, my insurance fiasco lol, and surrogacy. Then we got to do an ultrasound. Baby is looking great, growing right on track and has a nice strong heartbeat.
Jonathan wasn't here for this appointment so I texted him when I found out we were doing an ultrasound and asked if he wanted them to look to see if they could tell the sex. He said yes, but not to tell him or have them write it down on paper and when he's ready to know, then he can find out. My bet has been out ever since about 10 weeks that it's boy. I told Jonathan that I just had a feeling and also that this pregnancy is most similar to my pregnancy with my son. But I also was torn on whether I wanted to know or not, even if Jonathan found out. I preferred to wait until delivery. Then again, the other part of me wanted to know if my gut feeling was right or wrong and also figured that if Jonathan was going to know, I probably should too, just for ease of things.
So I told the doctor to look and see if he could tell yet or not. After looking he said that he was 99% sure what it was. Now I'm waiting for the time to come either today, tomorrow, or three weeks from now when Jonathan says he wants to know to tell him whether I was right or wrong.
What do you think? Boy or girl? ;)
