Well, I don't want to type prematurely but it looks like we might be good to go again this month...finally!!
Let me rewind a few days:
I had been having some intermittent pains from the cysts for a couple of weeks. Nothing too bad and short lived. Then on Thursday night, I had one so bad that it actually woke me up. But it went away after a few minutes and I went back to bed. Friday morning I woke up and when I went to the bathroom, I noticed spotting. Since I've been on birth control pills (and wasn't due for a period for a good week still) I emailed Michelle at FWF, and also called my regular doctor. Michelle said that it was likely one of the cysts rupturing but if I was worried about it, they could have me go in to the monitoring clinic for another ultrasound. My regular doctor (none the wiser to my surrogacy/cyst adventure) said if it continues through the weekend to come in on Monday for an ultrasound.
Well, I decided that since an u/s through my regular doctor is free and one through the monitoring clinic is like $300 for Jonathan, I'd go into my regular doctor!
Monday morning when I was still spotting, I went in. They did an ultrasound and determined that my left ovary looked fine (meaning that cyst was gone!) and there was a dominant follicle on my right ovary. Since I obviously knew that I had the cyst before coming in, I got a copy of the report. The cyst was 28mm (down 10-11mm from last month.)
So I sent the report to Michelle. Then yesterday she had me go in to the lab for a blood draw to check my estrogen and progesterone levels. She also told me in an email that depending on what the labs say, there is a potential we'd be able to go forward with the cycle this month, even with that cyst still being there on the right!
Well I just got off of the phone with Michelle and she said that my progesterone looks fine and they're still waiting for the estrogen to come back but that as long as it isn't wonky then we will be cleared to cycle this month!!!! WOOOHOOO! Finally, some good news! She said that she was going to call Jonathan and have him order the meds and that since yesterday was my last active BCP, I'll probably start having a normal period and to call once it starts.
I'm so excited and just hope that estrogen level doesn't try to pull something funny and derail our plans again this month.
