I think I've mentioned it before but I have to "verify" a pregnancy with my regular doctor in order for my insurance to cover the OB care. After our BFPs and first two betas, I scheduled that. Obviously it came back confirmed. But what surprised me is that my doctor sent me out for an early ultrasound on Wednesday, I guess to be doubly sure?? Who knows. But I don't care because it was an awesome surprise!
I was only 4w5d when they did it so I knew there wouldn't be able to see anything except maybe the gestational sac or sacs. I couldn't see the monitor during the scan (which I hate when they do that!) but I requested a copy of the images and reports and picked them up today.

See that little tiny black blob the arrow is pointing to?? Look closer...lol. That's the gestational sac. Yep, that's our little bean growing! And most likely, just one.
Of course, there's always a chance that it could have split and be identical twins which we wouldn't know until we can see the yolk sacs and fetal poles in about a week and a half. And there's the chance of them finding another gestational sac later too. But although possible, the chances are slim so I'm not worrying about that.
What Jonathan and I find funny is that it turns out the corpus luteum is on the right side. So it was that third follicle on the right that ended being the one that actually fertilized and implanted. I told Jonathan that at the time of the IUI when we found out that third follicle on the right had matured enough to be a player I was a little worried it was going to increase our chances for multiples that much more but apparently, things really do happen for a reason! :)
Can't wait for our next ultrasound (which we'll be scheduling on Tuesday after our last beta for either June 2nd or 5nd) to see that gorgeous heartbeat!
