Well, it's been four weeks. Things have returned to what I call normal, the way they were prior to this entire journey. Although I am still experiencing the occasional light lochia, my incision has completely healed and I've been feeling great for a couple of weeks now. I have my final postpartum doctors visit in two weeks. Birth control? Yes please! LOL.
Today I started my conditioning program to get back into my marathon training. I'm being smart about it and easing myself back into it but it was great to register for a half marathon in 8 months!
I've stopped pumping. I found out that I'm unable to donate my milk because of the transfusion. I have to wait at least 4 months prior and I never planned on pumping for that long unless it was going to my surro babies. I was bummed to find that out but maybe next time.
Speaking of next time, I'm already itching for it. Of course, it won't be anytime soon. I told Stephanie today that I'll be ready to get pregnant again next October. That's just shy of 18 months from now. Though I'll be physically ready in 12 months, I have to wait until AFTER I run the Marine Corps Marathon next year! LOL.
For now, I'm focusing on my training and getting into shape. I'm already a good 23 pounds less than I was when I got pregnant and my belly is slowly shrinking back to it's pre-pregnancy shape. Though I still don't know just how close it'll get since I had twins and it was so stretched. Only time will tell on that one. Regardless, it was all worth it and wether Grant and Russ want another (in which case I'd REALLY question their sanity) or I start a new journey with new IPs, I can't wait to do it again!
