Well, it's been just over two weeks since I brought two beautiful babies into Grant and Russ's lives. They've all been down twice to visit (once each week) since then but now the time has come for them to leave Florida and head back to Tennessee. They're headed back on Sunday, Father's Day, which seems perfectly fitting!
I've been pumping since the hospital so that Ava and Barrett could at least get some breast milk in this first month. Both time the guys came down I sent them home with a cooler full of milk. I don't know if they're going to want me to keep sending it to them now that they're leaving and it'll be more complicated logistically but I'm still pumping regardless. I've decided that whether they want to take any more or not, I'm going to continue pumping until I'm back in a good running routine again. One, because it only helps my uterus shrink down more quickly and improves my odds against breast cancer, but also because of the extra calories it burns! I'm confident that's one of the reasons I'm already weighing in at less than I did pre-pregnancy. If I'm back into a well established workout routine when I stop pumping, I won't be so apt to put some of that weight back on. If Grant and Russ don't want the milk, I'll donate it! :)
So now I'm happily playing the role of doting Surro Mom! I was shopping at Target today and found myself coming home with more baby clothes to send out in the mail once they return home. I managed to limit it to one new outfit and bib each, though I had put several in the cart initially. LOL. It's going to be exciting watching these babies grow! I miss them already!
